VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Don Scott spoke at First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach a little over a month after he was barred from speaking there. On March 26, Scott had planned to speak to students alongside his law partner at the school's Legal Studies academy. However, Scott told 13Newsnow he was informed by the school that he had not been properly vetted, and parents hadn't been notified of his visit.

NORFOLK, Va. — The Department of Education announced Monday, May 5th, as the day the Office of Federal Student Aid will resume collections of its defaulted student loan payments. Borrowers who are in default could eventually be subjected to wage garnishment to pay off those loans. Before that day comes, however, all borrowers in default will receive email communication from the FSA making them aware of this.
