SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - As the weather warms up, construction will pick up across the tri-state area. The Iowa State Patrol is urging drivers to slow down in construction zones, and stick to posted speed limits at all times. ISP is asking drivers to be patient when going through those construction zones. “There’s a lot of people that will tailgate, road rage, or they like to pass on the shoulder because they want to get to the next spot quickly,” said Iowa State Patrol Trooper Karen Yaneff.
‘Taste Around the World’ raising money for Siouxland Community Health Center

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - The Siouxland Community Health Center held a celebration in South Sioux City, Nebraska Saturday night to raise money for programs that they offer to the community. The health center provides medical, dental, HIV, family planning services, and much more, to around 100,000 Siouxlanders every year; all under one roof. Saturday night, the health center hosted a dinner and fundraiser to celebrate their workers while they raised money.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Easter Sunday is still a little over a week away, but that didn’t stop Siouxlanders from getting in on the festivities a little early. This morning in Grandview Park, 15,000 Easter eggs were collected by kids of all ages at the KG95 easter egg hunt. The annual easter egg hunt has been a staple at Grandview Park for over 30 years. “It’s an awesome event that we continue, and hope to continue each and every year,” said Rob Powers with KG95, who was also the emcee for the event.
Sioux City Community School District accepts the resignation of district staff member

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - In a special meeting, Friday, the Sioux City Community School Board accepted the resignation of a district staff member. The board members called the meeting to order, then moved to closed session. After 41 minutes, the board members emerged from their closed session and voted 5-1 in favor of accepting the resignation, Lance Ehmcke was absent, and Earl Miller was the lone ‘nay’ vote.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - As we look at the week ahead, we look to the upcoming agenda for the Sioux City city council’s April 7th meeting. One item on the agenda is the reconsideration of the Human Rights Commission’s budget for Fiscal Year 2026. At the council’s February 26th Capital Improvement Plan and Operating Budget meeting, a motion was made to reduce that budget by $140,000, the motion passed by a 3-2 vote.
LAMB Theatre hosts fundraiser ahead of ‘Season 46′

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - For 45 years, the LAMB Theatre has provided Siouxland with hundreds of local live productions. Saturday afternoon, the theatre hosted their annual fundraising event. Throughout the night guests were treated to dinner, drinks, a silent and live auction, plus entertainment from LAMB Theatre performers. Officials with the LAMB Theatre hope to raise $35,000 through the fundraiser in order to help combat rising costs of productions.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Every day, around 150 Siouxlanders take advantage of the June E. Nylen Cancer Center. And Saturday night, they hosted their annual Rock the Cure concert to raise money. It was a sold out crowd at the Hard Rock for the benefit concert - over 500 tickets sold in total. Proceeds from the event go towards funding a renovation and expansion project at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center. That plan was underway last year, but due to rising costs, they had to put the project on hold.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Keeping kids safe while in cars was the goal behind an event over the weekend in Sioux City. Parents and children came out to Knoepfler Auto on Saturday, April 5, for a free safety inspection. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians looked at car seats with children in them to see how they fit in their seats, and if they were installed properly.
Le Mars community celebrates ribbon cutting for new event space

LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) - The city of Le Mars cut the ribbon on a new event space Friday afternoon, ‘The Headline Event Space’, located in the Sentinel building in Le Mars. “The Sentinel is actually the newspaper in Le Mars, the Sentinel has been here for a long, long time. [The main event space] is the part of the building where they actually used to print the newspapers,” said Cheryl Wells, who along with her husband Mike, purchased the building.
