    FRUITLAND — On May 20, the City of Fruitland put two bond measure before voters, requesting the money to expand capacity within Fruitland’s water and wastewater systems. The measures sought up to $17,421,000 in bonds for improvements to water quality and capacity, and up to $7,899,000 for improvements to wastewater treatment and disinfection processes. Both measures failed, with the water system bond receiving 290 ‘yes’ votes and 426 ‘no’ votes, while the wastewater measure failed 305 to 422.

    FRUITLAND — In its 11th annual Safest Cities report, released on March 17, Safewise — an organization whose website describes their service as “provides tools and information to help people make their life safer at home and in their community” — ranked Fruitland the third safest city in Idaho for 2025.     PAYETTE — After five years of obtaining employee benefits from the Idaho Independent Intergovernmental Authority, the Payette City Council has determined it will go through a broker to obtain those benefits starting in the 2025-26 fiscal year. The council made this decision during its regular meeting on June 2.
