The true story of this Montana mom is coming to Boise, highlighting the rise of white supremacy and far-right extremism over the past several years. Gersh herself will be in attendance at a May 21 showing of “Troll Storm” at The Flicks. The documentary follows Gersh, a seemingly typical realtor in Whitefish, Montana.

The fall of 2024 marked a new chapter for the Nampa School District, as its many school board decisions became a reality, not just a theoretical. The end of A/B blocks, the beginning of four-day weeks and the introduction of trimesters are just some of the changes that were implemented over the past school year. The district is partway through its third trimester on this brand-new schedule.

A longstanding Boise organization will be reaching its milestone birthday after years of evoking cheers and tears through storytelling. Story Story Night, founded in 2010, will turn 15 this April. For those who are unfamiliar, a typical Story Story event is much like an open mic. Audience members can become storytellers and sign up for a chance on stage, with five names being drawn out of a hat.

Sporting petals that glow in the dark — these flowers aren’t artificial. Recently named a Time Best Invention of 2024, the bioluminescent Firefly Petunia was engineered right here in Idaho by Light Bio. The invention, one of 200 listed, made it onto the magazine’s cover as well. The flowers fill a storage tote that is carried by a robot. In the daytime, the flowers look like any other white flower. However, at night, they emit an otherworldly green glow that is similar to a glow stick.

CALDWELL — Ringing in a new era for the West Valley Medical Center, a ribbon-cutting Wednesday morning celebrated the completion of a $3 million project to modernize the interior of the hospital. The project took three years to complete, with a goal of improving the atmosphere for patients and visitors. The upgrades included improvements to lobby areas and hallways, redesigning them to be more open.
