Following a pause on the program last week, 77 Nampa Job Corps employees have since received termination letters. On May 29, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced a “phased pause” of all Job Corps programs, citing poor performance and a growing deficit. At that time, it was unclear as to how employees would be impacted at the Centennial Job Corps in Nampa.

NAMPA — Affirming a bill passed by the Idaho Legislature, and on the heels of controversy in Boise, Nampa City Council unanimously voted to establish official flags for the city. The resolution mirrors HB 96 which went into effect immediately after being signed by Gov. Brad Little on April 3. Now a part of Idaho Code, the bill restricts what flags can be flown by government entities.

NAMPA — A total of nearly $100,000 in grant funds were allocated to four local nonprofits at Monday’s Nampa City Council meeting. The large sum made the decision a difficult one for city council members. Before coming to a unanimous vote on the 2025 Community Development Block Grants, council members considered all factors. Councilmember Sebastian Griffin emphasized a “return on investment,” focusing on which organizations would be able to help more people with the funds.
