The polls are now open for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s annual Paint the Plow competition. The competition sees high school students around Northwest Pennsylvania painting the blade of a snow plow. Each year, the students model their designs from a theme that emphasizes safety. This year’s theme is “use your reason when it’s freezing.”The public is now tasked with voting for their favorite design. Voting is open through December 15. People who came to the pre-Thanksgiving meal were seated at numbered tables. Volunteers then loaded plates, waited on the guests, filled drinks and cleaned tables just like customers would expect from a sit-down restaurant.

In the past, the group has held the meal on Thanksgiving, but one board member said they realized that in doing that, they could take a person away from their family.
