A program that provides bikes to community members in need is now rebranding and expanding. Last year, this program provided about 300 bikes; this year, they expect to double that amount. A decades-long program that has been changing lives for residents in only a portion of Erie will now be available for residents around the county.

    A Broadway actor brought the spotlight to students at Mercyhurst Prep on Wednesday. Eric Scotto spent the day at his alma mater leading master classes for their performing arts students. Students were able to learn dance, singing, and acting skills as well as ask him questions about the industry. Scotto graduated from MPS in 1993 and has gone off to perform across the country, including 12 Broadway shows, but he found time to come back to say thank you to Arthur Martone, who is retiring this year.

    Seniors at Life NWPA got a visit from a special guest Wednesday morning. The Easter Bunny brought goodies and holiday cheer to those at the senior center. The treats are provided by Parkhurst Dining and Mercyhurst University. Parkhurst has provided lunch services at the center for the past four years. Provider Liaison Holli Walker said that events like this have a positive impact on their seniors. “This is their social interactive environment.
