Girvan's much-loved former Davidson Cottage Hospital could be in for a bright future after the vacant building was sold at auction. The Davidson, as it was commonly known, closed in 2013 after the new Girvan Community Hospital opened. Following a "fierce bidding war," the property sold for £180,000 at a recent auction held by the Online Property Auction Group.

A third arrest has been made in connection with the death of Kayden Moy at Irvine beach last month. Police Scotland today, Wednesday, June 4, confirmed that a 14-year-old boy had been arrested. Emergency services were called to Irvine beach at around 6.45pm on Saturday, May 17 following an incident.
