FRESNO, Calif. – A Democratic national political action committee is looking to flip vulnerable Republican seats in Congress in the next elections, including one seat in the San Joaquin Valley. EMILYs LIST released a list of target seats on Wednesday as it begins to lay the groundwork for the 2026 midterm elections. Among 46 House seats in their list is the one currently occupied by congressman David Valadao of Hanford.

The Kings County Elections Department is on high alert, after officials revealed Tuesday they recently received a bomb threat. The threat was made last Friday, just days after the presidential election. Details are sparse, and it’s not clear exactly how it was made, but it came after business hours. Kings County officials said the FBI and secretary of state found the threat wasn’t credible — but this hasn't been the only office to be targeted.

FRESNO, CA — With days left until the anticipated 2024 presidential election, officials in the San Joaquin Valley are urging residents to stay peaceful, even when casting their ballot. Several incidents around the country, where ballot boxes have been damaged, have raised alarm for election officials as voting is in full swing. Ballot boxes in at least three states have been damaged. California law prohibits any type of voting intimidation or political displays within 100 feet of polling places.

FRESNO, Calif. — Rajinder Singh Chauhan has walked over half a dozen miles every day since Oct. 9. He started in Bakersfield, and expects to reach his 350th mile when he reaches Sacramento on Friday. He’s doing this because he is a survivor of anti-Sikh killings that took place in India in 1984. And he’s not alone — neither in the march nor escaping violence. A number of activists in California’s Punjabi Sikh community are marching to the state’s capital.

FRESNO, CA – This weekend, a gathering of Central Valley breweries aims to celebrate the region’s locally brewed beer scene. The first-ever Central Valley Brewers Fest is taking place on Saturday, at Eaton Plaza in downtown Fresno. The inaugural festival will feature only local breweries – about 23 of them – according to organizers from the nonprofit Central Valley Brewers Guild.
