An incredible photo was captured in southern Indiana of cloud iridescence. This photo was submitted by Bobbi Bledsoe, from French Lick.WLKY Chief Meteorologist Jay Cardosi said they are "pretty rare."He explained what causes a "rainbow cloud" phenomenon: They occur when the sun's rays interact with ice crystals or water droplets in the high-altitude clouds.That causes the light to diffract and scatter into a spectrum of the colors of the rainbow.

TRAFFIC: Crash on I-71 has all southbound lanes shut down in Oldham County

All lanes are blocked on Interstate 71 South before the county line in Oldham County due to a crash. It happened around 6:50 a.m. near mile markers 12.7 and 13.0 just past Veterans Memorial Parkway. There were at least three vehicles involved, according to TRIMARC. Drivers may want to exit at Veterans Memorial Parkway for a detour. There have been injuries reported but no word on the extent. TRIMARC estimated at least two hours before it will reopen.
LMPD: Man, woman in hospital after being shot in Parkland neighborhood

Two people were shot in the Parkland neighborhood Monday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police. A little after 3 a.m., LMPD officers responded to multiple calls of a person being shot in the 3300 block of West Kentucky Street. When they got there, police found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment. A little bit later, a man was dropped off by a private vehicle at Norton West Louisville Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Small earthquake detected in central Kentucky, 1 day after Tennessee quake

An earthquake was detected in Kentucky Sunday morning.The United States Geological Survey reported an earthquake about seven miles southeast of High Bridge in Jessamine County around 3:41 a.m.It registered at a magnitude of 2.8 about about 18 miles below the surface of the earth there.That’s about 20 miles southwest of Lexington. This quake follows one that happened Saturday morning about three hours south near Knoxville, Tennessee.
