The Courier Journal, often referred to as the Louisville Courier Journal or simply The C-J, was known as The Courier-Journal from November 8, 1868, until October 29, 2017. This daily newspaper is based in Louisville, Kentucky, and is owned by Gannett, which promotes it as a part of the USA Today Network. It holds the title of the most widely circulated newspaper in Kentucky. As noted in the 1999 Editor & Publisher International Yearbook, it ranks as the 48th largest daily newspaper in the country.
