Steve Lawson is charged with conspiracy to murder and tampering with physical evidence in Rogers' death. Tuesday marks the first day of jury selection, where attorneys will ask a pool of 85 potential jurors questions and eliminate those with bias until they believe they have reached a fair and impartial 14-person jury.

Now one week away from trial, attorneys are hopeful they can find an unbiased jury. Warren County, KY is home to about 145,000 people. This week, 85 of those people will be receiving a juror duty notice to report for trial on May 27.

    BARDSTOWN, Ky. — No cameras will be allowed inside the courtroom during the first suspect's trial in the Crystal Rogers case, the judge has ruled. Nelson County Judge Charles Simms ruled Tuesday he will not allow any electronics in the courtroom during Steve Lawson's trial on Tuesday May, 27. This includes cameras, cell phones and laptops.

    BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Two weeks from now Kentucky will be watching as the first trial in the Crystal Rogers case gets underway. The trials were moved from Nelson County to Warren County, where the attorneys and judge believe the three defendants can get a fair and impartial jury. “The idea was to transfer it to a county where there’s not as much publicity on the case, people might not have heard that about it,” legal expert Nick Mudd, with Mudd Legal Group, said.
