    A male and a female are in hospital after cops in Markham used gunfire to stop an assault early Wednesday. York Regional Police were called to Buchanan Dr., in the Hwy. 7 and Warden Ave. area, around 4:40 a.m. and “located a male actively attacking a female.”The male was shot and both of them were transported to a trauma centre. Their health status is not known. Police have not yet said their ages or the relationship between them. York cops have a large presence in the area.
