SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport firefighters put out a fire at the former Oak Meadows Apartments at 5:48 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23. SFD says this is the fifth fire at the complex they’ve put out this year, with 10 fires having occurred in the last six months. LATEST NEWSIt took 24 firefighters and 11 units to bring the blaze under control. SFD says no utility services are connected to any of the buildings.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Three men were arrested on Monday, April 21, after an attempted traffic stop turned into a chase, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputies tried to pull over a four-door sedan at South Lakeshore and I-220. They say the car fled westbound on I-20 before crashing near exit 5. The driver, Jefferey Moran, then reportedly exited the car and ran towards Greenwood Road. He was able to jump two fences before being captured by a CPSO deputy and a Greenwood officer.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport firefighters responded to a house fire just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 20. The 911 caller told first responders that lightning struck the attic and started the blaze. Crews were able to enter the 2-story home and extinguish the fire, while facing severe weather. BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - The Bossier Parish School Board announced the approval of a pay raise for teachers and employees on Thursday, April 17. LATEST NEWSThe board says it’s the largest permanent pay raise in its history without the passage of a bond. The $2,500 pay increase will go into effect at the start of the 2025-26 school year. This will bring starting teacher pay to $52,634. Support personnel will also receive a 4.75% pay increase.
