SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Louisiana bill changing what food is served in schools is headed to Governor Jeff Landry’s desk. Senate Bill 14, which was written by Sen. Patrick McMath, creates a list of banned ingredients in food served at public schools (and some private schools that receive state funding) across the state. The bill does not however address food and drinks in vending machines at schools.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has revised Shreveport’s 2024 water grade after discovering a “possible miscalculation” in their scoring. This all comes after the city’s water department requested a formal review of their grade. After the department got the city’s request, they revised the 2024 score from 55 to 65, improving the city’s grade from an F to a D.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The date for the 2025 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl in Shreveport has been announced. Shreveport’s annual bowl game, which has been played since 2013, will be held Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. This will be the 49th Annual I-Bowl. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

BOWIE COUNTY, Texas (KSLA) - A Texas congressman is working to secure the future of the Red River Army Depot (RRAD). On Thursday, June 5, Congressman Nathaniel Moran issued a statement about future operations at the depot. Earlier in the week, Moran also led a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth discussing the critical role the depot plays in military preparedness and why the depot should be supported. The letter was cosigned by 11 other members of the Texas Congressional Delegation.
