SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A fire is being investigated in north Shreveport. On April 6, at 6:38 a.m., the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) responded to a reported fire on 2400 block of Kemp Lane in the Martin Luther King Jr neighborhood. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were visible from the front corner of the home. Four people were found inside the home. Fire crews immediately began life-resuscitating efforts. All four victims were transported to a local hospital. Three of the four victims have died.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A new festival will be taking over Shreveport’s riverfront with amazing music and wonderful art. Brittney Hazelton speaks to Co-Founder Ennis Gil about the festival and all it brings to the city of Shreveport-Bossier. On April 12, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Jazz Fest on the Red will celebrate International Jazz Month with a new festival at Riverview Park, 601 - 699 Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway. The festival will feature live music, food, fashion, and art by area artists.

HEMPSTEAD, La. (KSLA) - Damage reports from severe storms and tornados on April 5. Trees are reportedly down near the 36 mm eastbound on I-30; several outbuildings have been destroyed. Hempstead County says they have several reports of damage from a tornado and severe weather. One woman reported that a tornado ripped a gas meter from her yard. Other damage was reported up to 278 near DeAnn, Arkansas.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A 911 call to report suspects breaking into cars ends with a homeowner reportedly shooting one of the possible suspects. On April 5, at 4 a.m., the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting on the 7600 block of University Drive in Shreveport. Upon arrival, the officers learned that a homeowner was outside smoking when he saw two suspects breaking into cars. The homeowner called 911 to report the incident.

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Texarkana Police ask that people do not try crossing flooded roadways after having to rescue several people from stalled vehicles in flooding conditions. On April 4 and 5, Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) rushed to the aid of drivers as flooding plagued the area. “Ok, folks. It’s bad out there. We’ve got flooded streets everywhere - and lots more rain on the way.
