On May 10, at 8 p.m., the Louisiana State Police began an investigation by request of the Shreveport Police Department regarding an officer-involved shooting. The shooting occurred on Yancey Place. Investigators have been processing the scene and gathering information. One person was shot and has been pronounced dead. No officers were harmed during the incident.

On May 9, at 7:12 p.m., the Caddo Fire District responded to a reported fire on the 10000 block of Ellerbe Road. Upon arrival, firefighters faced a two-story home with visible flames coming from the back of the home. Caddo Fire had nine tankers fighting the flames. South Bossier and DeSoto also sent each a tanker to help assist against the fire.

Just after Midnight on May 10, the Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) responded to gunfire in the 1300 block of Carroll Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the first homicide in Texarkana, Texas, in 2025. A 21-year-old man was shot dead inside a home, and a 52-year-old man was injured with non-life-threatening injuries.

City of Texarkana receives $2 million grant

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Renovation work continues in downtown Texarkana for The Assembly Line, a nonprofit organization promoting economic development in the area. The City of Texarkana received a $2 million grant from the T.L.L. Temple Foundation that will partially go towards The Assembly Line. “$1.25 [million] will go to The Assembly Line. That is a one-time matching fund for equipment, building, dynamic innovation we will have,” said Dr. Brandy Eldridge, director.
