SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A very warm and muggy night ahead with temperatures remaining in the mid 70s. It should stay quiet with just a few passing clouds. Looking ahead to Friday, we’ll be keeping a close eye on areas north of I-30 where some severe storms will be possible during the morning. The main threats with these would be damaging wind and heavy rainfall. For the rest of the region, it will be another hot, humid and dry day with highs soaring into the mid 90s.

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Following the arrest of an ArkLaTex police officer accused of the sexual assault of a child, one department program is paused and under further review. “We’ve made the decision to pause the Explorer post activity right now,” Texarkana Texas Police Department spokesman Shawn Vaughn said. Vaughn said the future of the department’s Explorer Program is uncertain following the arrest of a Texarkana officer.

TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - The City of Texarkana, Texas and the Texarkana Historical Landmark have installed signs marking the historic route of Trammel’s Trace. “And we see on this map done in 1840,1841 is Trammel’s Trace,” Mark Solomon, Texarkana Texas Historic Preservation Officer, said. Solomon said Trammel’s Trace was the first road into Texas from the north and was named for Nicholas Trammel, who smuggled horses from then The Republic of Texas to Arkansas.
