A senior London police officer is accused of assaulting the same woman in Toronto and Ottawa over a three-month period, according to court documents. Insp. Ryan Scrivens, 48, has been suspended with pay since February after Ottawa police launched an investigation into allegations from the Family Day long weekend. Ottawa police charged Scrivens with assault and assault causing bodily harm, London police said last month.

A suspect in an alleged hate-motivated attack on a senior has turned himself in to London police. An elderly woman was outside her home in the area of Marconi Boulevard and Trafalgar Street at about 8 a.m. on May 29, when a man approached her, threatening to set her house on fire and spitting at her, police said. The suspect took off and the woman wasn’t injured, police said.
