Newark MP Robert Jenrick is to hold a Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour Summit on Thursday, November 23. It will be a chance for the public to meet with, and question, operational leads for policing, crime and anti-social behaviour. The event takes place between 6.30pm and 7.30pm in Newark with the venue to be confirmed to those who have registered to attend 24 hours in advance.

Scarefest is again at Newark Castle is happening in aid of the Children’s Bereavement Centre. The Children’s Bereavement Centre is a Newark-based charity that helps children and young people cope with the grieving process brought on by the death or terminal illness diagnosis of someone close. 96% of the Children’s Bereavement Centre income comes from fundraising in order to continue to provide free bereavement services across Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire.

Children and families are using a virtual balloon race at Halloween to raise money for school resources. Organised by the Friends of Kneesall Primary, the environmentally friendly race will take place entirely online. A woman has been banned from the roads from 14 months after being convicted of speeding. Audi driver Lisa Goodwin, 42, of The Crescent, Bilsthorpe, had denied she was travelling at 49mph in a 30mph zone of the A60 at Cuckney Hill. Goodwin was found guilty following a trial at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court and, in addition to the 14 month ban, she was fined £260 and ordered to pay £304 costs.
