Barbara Papitto’s homemade banana bread is on the money. "My mother was a great baker too," Papitto said. Walk into her formal dining room and see the floor partially covered in boxes of books. "We have over 3,700 books that we send to students in five schools in Providence," she said. Through donations and the Papitto Foundation, she sends books to inner city kids. If they read six of them and pass a test, they get a $1,000 scholarship.
