Samantha Munn is candid about her restaurant experience going into opening The Ponte Vedra Wine Bar and Restaurant. It is expected to open in mid to late May in Ponte Vedra Beach. “I have, like, none,” she said. The restaurant is at 262 Solana Road just west of Florida A1A. It is in the former Two Dudes Seafood Restaurant and Red’s Steakhouse space. It will feature “Nuevo Americana” cuisine in a relaxed and unhurried European-like atmosphere, Munn said.

Darian “Jack” Jackson, owner of Dapper D’s Cigars, is opening a restaurant and cigar lounge at 11 N. Ocean St. Downtown. It will be his third location in Northeast Florida. It is in the former Island Girl Cigar Bar and next to Cowford Chophouse at 101 E. Bay St.Jackson bought the property April 30 for $146,225. He plans to use the two-story building for a restaurant on the ground floor offering Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and wings, and a self-contained space upstairs for a cigar lounge.

George Saoud is opening a second event space, this time across the river in San Marco. Cady Club at 1015 Kings Ave. serves coffee, beer and wine, pastries and light snacks. Open to all, it opens May 1. Saoud also owns The Lark, an event space at 229 N. Hogan St. Downtown. “The two venues are sisters, but they aren’t twins,” Saoud said. “The intent is to build a social hub on the Southbank.”The moniker Cady Club pays homage to the Cady Building, which was a longtime photography studio.

Conviva Senior Primary Care announced April 29 it has opened three medical centers next to three Walmart stores in Jacksonville. They are at 10991 San Jose Blvd., Unit 100; 11900 Atlantic Blvd., Unit 1; and 4250 Philips Highway, Unit 100. The centers originally opened as Walmart Health clinics. A year ago, Walmart announced it was closing 51 units in Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri and Texas.

Jacksonville Golf & Country Club members have approved a $30 million plan to expand the clubhouse along with a rebuild and redesign of the golf course, according to an April 29 news release. Club leaders are calling the plan “Blueprint for Tomorrow.”Jacksonville Golf & Country Club is at 3985 Hunt Club Road N. off Hodges Boulevard. It is an equity golf course community. It has full golf, sports, social and junior executive memberships. It opened in 1989 and the community now has 919 homes.
