    The owner of Underwood’s Jewelers bought the building that is home to its retail store in San Marco Square on June 10 for $4.865 million. The store is at 2044 San Marco Blvd. next to Theatre Jacksonville. Bromberg and Co. of Birmingham, Alabama, bought the building through AMO Corp. of Alabama Inc. The seller was Kelly Burnett of Atlantic Beach through KEK of San Marco LLC. AMO then took out a $3.7 million mortgage from ServicFirst Bank of Birmingham, Alabama.

    The median price of a single-family home increased 0.2% in May while the inventory of homes for sale rose 6.6%, according to the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors. NEFAR supplies monthly home sales data for Duval, Baker, Clay, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties. The May median price of $388,995 is down 3.7% from the same month a year ago. The record is $403,000 in May 2024.

    Orlando-based restaurant chain Hawkers has partnered with Savory Fund, a private equity firm in Lehi, Utah, according to a June 12 news release. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Hawkers filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September 2024 and voluntarily withdrew from Chapter 11 in February 2025 after restructuring the loan from the previous lender. “I’ve been watching Hawkers for years. The food, the energy, the following — it’s magnetic,” Andrew K.
