DALLAS (KDAF) – For the second-straight season, the Florida Panthers are Stanley Cup Champions, eliminating the Edmonton Oilers in a rematch of last year’s final. Despite the greatness of Oilers Star Connor McDavid, the Oilers just couldn’t get it done. It’s a familiar story to the one we know well in Dallas. The Stars have made it to the Western Conference Finals in three straight seasons, failing to advance to the final round every time (twice to the Oilers, obviously). Heartbreaking stuff.

FRISCO, TX (KDAF) – Former NHL goalies and Current Dallas Stars Executives Al Montoya and Marty Turco hosted students from Opportunity Resource Services (ORS) at the Comerica Center in Frisco, TX Monday morning. The event offered over 80 ORS students the chance to hear from former NHL professionals. Montoya was the first Cuban-American to play in the NHL and currently serves as the Vice President of Cultural Growth and Strategies for the Dallas Stars.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers placed right-hander Tyler Mahle on the 15-day injured list Sunday with fatigue in his throwing shoulder. The move is retroactive to Thursday and right-hander Kumar Rocker was called up from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place on the roster. Rocker is scheduled to take Mahle’s spot in the rotation and start Sunday against the Chicago White Sox.
