TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — We have already seen our first 100 degree day in Tucson during the most popular time of year to go for hikes. The heat will only get worse as summer is right around the corner. This is the start of the worst time of year to go out and hike but plenty of people will head outside anyways. If that's going to be done it is best to head out around dawn and make it a quick hike.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — Deforestation has been a topic when it comes to climate change since the '80s. Even though the West is improving with repopulating trees, the Northeast is struggling. The forest industry is one of the biggest drivers of the economy for the northeastern United states. With trade becoming more global as the decades go on this leads to species that shouldn't be in the United States being transported here from the other parts of the world.

SAHUARITA, Ariz. (KVOA) — Some residents in Sahuarita are concerned about bulls roaming into their retirement community. On top of that, another bull is on the loose in Stone Canyon and Pima county. Lloyd Stone has been a resident in this neighborhood for 5 years. He has seen bulls come and go at around the same time each day. Over the last two months he has seen the same two bulls in the morning and a different bull in the afternoon.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — Heat related illnesses have been on the rise for a number of years in Arizona due to the increasing temperatures we are seeing during summer and even in spring. Not only are we seeing warmer temperatures than we did when the state was founded but the population has also exploded in recent years leading to more cases of these various illnesses. The impact of staying out in the heat for too long especially in teenagers and older adults is causing the increase.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — If we manage to reach that triple digit mark by the end of this week it will be the earliest we have ever seen a 100 degree day recorded here in Tucson. Records go back to 1894 for the City of Tucson and were first recorded at the University of Arizona before moving to its current reading at the airport.
