CLEVELAND (WJW) — A 23-year-old woman is now in custody, accused of shooting and killing a young mother at Mill Creek Falls in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to officials, Lavia M. Paul, 23, of Cleveland, was taken into custody Wednesday evening and faces murder charges. Officials said she turned herself in to the 4th District Cleveland Police. Paul will face a judge for arraignment Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Kiara Jackson.

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A man police said fired “multiple times” on a pickup truck, killing one man, while traveling on Interstate 77 in April 2024, was sentenced Thursday. Ian Rich, 29, of Newburgh Heights, is accused of killing the truck’s driver, 57-year-old David Perez Jr., and injuring its passenger, 59-year-old Jacqueline Perez, both of Garfield Heights. Rich pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, attempted murder, and discharging a firearm.
