Darcie Miller came off the bench to score a valuable equaliser as Aberdeen Women came from behind to secure a point against Montrose at Pittodrie. Three of the six teams in the bottom half of the SWPL will be relegated this season ahead of a switch to a 10-team top flight next term. The Dons went into the match knowing a win would have secured their status in the SWPL for next season with two games to spare.

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin is in the running for the Scottish Football Writers’ Association manager of the year award. The Dons boss was overlooked for the three-man PFA Scotland manager of the year shortlist with Falkirk’s John McGlynn pipping Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers and Hibernian’s David Gray to the award.

A DP World Tour event will take place at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire in August. The Scottish Championship will take place at the Balmedie course from August 7-10. It will be the first time the Tour has visited Trump International Golf Links Scotland, which hosted the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship in both 2023 and 2024 and will do so again from July 30 to August 3, the week prior to the Scottish Championship.

With the World Snooker Championship coming to an end today, we have dipped into our archives to find the best pictures of the snooker scene in Aberdeen and the north of Scotland. The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre played host to the Scottish Open from 1998 to 2003 with Stephen Hendry, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Peter Ebdon among those to triumph in the Granite City. Nigerian goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu is to spend time on trial at Aberdeen this week. The 19-year-old, who is 6ft 8in, plays for junior side Tayport in the Midlands League. He was on trial at St Johnstone last week with Stoke City, Dunfermline, Dumbarton and St Mirren all reportedly monitoring Nwosu. The goalkeeper won his first Nigeria senior cap in a friendly against Costa Rica in November 2022.
