    A Tongan national is reportedly on the run in Sydney's west after two officials connected to Australian Border Force were allegedly stabbed and assaulted this morning. NSW Police officers were called to James Ruse Drive in Clyde about 4am to find a 54-year-old man stabbed in the cheek and neck and a 36-year-old man assaulted. The two men have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In November last year, three buildings and 10 cars were vandalised, with one vehicle set on fire. The 21-year-old will be under strict home detention with an electronic bracelet and only allowed out accompanied by a parent during his bail.

    Motorists have described the chaos caused by hundreds of vehicles being damaged by shards of metal that spilled from a truck along a vast stretch of the country's busiest roads. Drivers were left stranded and waiting for help after their tyres were pierced by the debris from a truck on the M1 southbound from the NSW Central Coast to Sydney on Friday morning. Some vehicles suffered multiple tyre punctures between Palmdale and the Mooney Mooney Bridge after 5am.
