Project:Camp in Los Angeles may look like a typical kid's camp, with everything from arts and crafts to jump rope, but there's more at play. Every child at the camp has been impacted by the recent wildfires. Like 9-year-old Rose McCabe, whose Altadena school burned to the ground, leaving only the sign still standing. "There was a fire and our whole school burned down. And my friend Olivia's school burned down. And my sister's friend's school burned down," Rose said.

Water beads may look harmless and fun, but the authors of a new report — including a mom whose daughter was seriously injured by them — are calling for a ban on their sale. It turned out she had ingested the small, water-absorbing beads her older sister was playing with. The beads can expand to 100 times their size when exposed to water.

(CBS NEWSPATH) — Cell phones do much more than make calls. They have become our cameras, music devices, televisions, and navigation systems. Now, tech companies are trying to make smartphones smarter than ever. Samsung is out with a new smartphone, and artificial intelligence is at the center of it. The Galaxy S-25 comes with Google’s Gemini technology, which can help with questions or offer dinner ideas just by taking a look at what’s in your refrigerator.

Updated June 29, 2024 at 6:24 PMThe conductor of the classic Napa Valley Wine Train is using the old ride to blaze a new path. For 35 years, the train has transported passengers through Napa Valley's wine country, the California region north of San Francisco that is home to more than 400 wineries. The locomotive, with quarters inspired by classic Pullman cars, has long been a way to see the sprawling area, carrying visitors through the valley in style and luxury.
