Sacramento police have arrested four people on suspicion of multiple firearms charges following a shooting late Monday in South Natomas. Officers were called about 10:45 p.m. Monday to a reported shooting in the 2000 block of West El Camino Avenue, according to Sacramento Police Department officials. No one was hurt by the shots fire, department officials said, but officers found evidence of a shooting and later detained the four, arresting them on suspicion of unspecified weapons charges.

A fatal crash early Tuesday closed a roadway in east Elk Grove, said police officials. The single-vehicle wreck closed Waterman Road between Elliot Springs Drive and Sheldon Road in both directions, according to an Elk Grove Police Department social media post about 6:45 a.m. Information on the motorist was unavailable. It was not immediately known when the road would reopen.

A man whom authorities said barricaded himself in a vacant Arden Arcade home and threatened neighbors is in custody after surrendering to Sacramento County deputies on Sunday. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 4200 block of Oterol Court about 5:45 p.m., according to deputies. Residents said the 51-year-old man was armed after he had broken into a home and refused to leave.
