U.S. Coast Guard rescuers suspended their search Sunday for two people lost in Lake Tahoe when their boat capsized in sudden, stormy weather Saturday, killing six aboard and injuring two others. “Suspending a search is always a difficult decision to make and weighs heavily on each Coast Guard member involved,” said Cmdr. David Herndon, search and rescue mission coordinator, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco.

Three people were wounded early Sunday in a shooting in Old Foothill Farms, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies responded around 2 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 4900 block of Little Oak Lane and found two people with gunshot wounds. Both were taken by ambulance to a hospital, sheriff’s officials said. A third victim was later contacted by deputies after he was apparently driven to a hospital, officials said. The Sheriff’s Office said the victims were expected to survive.

Authorities closed the roadway for several hours as emergency personnel and investigators worked the scene, according to a post by the West Sacramento Police Department.
