    COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Perkiomen Valley Board of School Directors voted Monday night to adopt its final 2025-26 budget with a 3.7% tax hike. The total spending plan is $137.18 million, which represents 94.22% fixed costs and 5.78% variable costs. Fixed costs are defined as salaries, benefits, teacher pensions, debt service, transportation, charter school tuition and contractual obligations.

    READING, Pa. – The Berks County Commissioners voted Thursday morning to authorize annual contracts for career building workforce training. A $249,997 award was made to the Berks Latino Workforce Development Corp. and a $250,000 award was made to Connections Work. The awards are for the fiscal year beginning July 1. An official from Connections Work said they offer an apprenticeship program in the construction trades for individuals within the justice system.
