READING, Pa. – Reading City Council voted Monday night to award a contract to purchase a software subscription to generate a database of the city's police crash reports. The city is purchasing a six-month trial subscription for the Citian "CRASH" program at a cost of $25,000, to be paid from public works, traffic and engineering. After the trial period, the city may approve a full subscription cost for $50,000 per year.

READING, Pa. – Reading City Council voted 4-3 against appointing Adrian Jadic, Wyomissing, as the city zoning administrator Monday night. Jadic was nominated by Mayor Eddie Moran for the position. Council President Donna Reed, along with Councilmembers Vanessa Campos, Chris Miller and Rafael Nunez voted against Jadic. The matter was discussed by council in a closed-door executive session prior to the vote. No additional details were discussed in public.

READING, Pa. – Reading City Council on Monday night awarded contracts for materials and labor for the installation of an outdoor ice-skating rink at the 3rd and Spruce Recreation Center. A $175,800 contract for concrete is being awarded to Doug Lamb Construction, and a $143,900 contract for electric is being awarded to HB Frazer Co.According to council documents, the rink will be physically located near the intersection of Second and Riverfront streets.
