The outage, which began around 10:20 a.m., disrupted homes, businesses, and traffic lights. The cause of the outage remains undetermined. Nearly 12,000 Penelec customers were without electrical service Tuesday morning due to a disruption in service. The outage affected homes, businesses and traffic lights in Erie as well as Millcreek and Summit townships, according to FirstEnergy's website. FirstEnergy is Penelec's parent company.

The tavern's owners have applied for a liquor license for a new business under a different name. A downtown Erie tavern is not closing, despite a recent post on its Facebook page. Jekyll & Hyde's, 8 E. 10th St., is the victim of a vengeful former manager, said Bushnu Siwakoti, one of the business' owners.

Donated breast milk is crucial for newborns, especially premature infants, aiding digestion and preventing infections. The new depot aims to increase donations, as one donor can provide enough milk for numerous preemie meals. Chelsea Lasky-McFarlin no longer has to mail her frozen breast milk to Pittsburgh in order to help new mothers feed their babies. The Mid-Atlantic Mothers' Milk Bank opened a new milk depot May 19 at UPMC Hamot. It's the organization's first depot in northwestern Pennsylvania.

China’s media is reporting that a significant milestone for the AG600 large amphibious aircraft in having successfully completed all compliance flight tests in ground takeoff and landing in crosswind conditions. Xinhau claims that the aircraft has now obtained its type certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, marking its successful development and approval for market entry. The aircraft has been developed specifically for fire and emergency rescue and response.
