A vehicle fire and a fatal crash shut down eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Livermore early Tuesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. Around 2:40 a.m., patrol officers were alerted to a collision involving a motorcycle on I-580's eastbound lanes near the Isabel Avenue off-ramp, according to the CHP.

There is no service on BART’s Green line, which runs from Berryessa to Millbrae, the transit system announced early Thursday morning. The closure was first reported shortly before 4:30 a.m.The transit system has advised passengers traveling from San Francisco can board a Dublin/Pleasanton train (Blue line) and transfer at Bayfair to a Berryessa train (Orange line). Those traveling from Berryessa can board a Richmond train (Orange line) and transfer at Bayfair to a Daly City train (Blue line).

A BART train waits for passengers in San Francisco, Calif., on Feb. 15, 2022. Service was halted on the Berryessa line due to a station closure on May 20, 2025. BART service has halted on Tuesday morning between Berryessa station and Lake Merritt, the transit agency reports. The disruption in service, first announced at 5:19 AM, is due to a full closure at the San Leandro station because of a nearby fire. Passengers are advised to find alternative forms of transportation.

It’s taken years and years – but works have finally got going on building a second entrance to Queenstown Road station. This was originally proposed way back in 2014, as part of Taylor Wimpey’s ambitious Battersea Exchange development, which combined lots of little bits of land, two railway viaducts and a school, to create new flats, shops and office space (and a replacement school).

It’s rare to see new houses rather than flats in Battersea – but six of them are coming to a sliver of land you’ve probably never noticed, hidden away behind two rows of Victorian tenement flats on Theatre Street and Latchmere Street. The picture above shows their location (shaded in red) – where they will replace a series of small workshops that are spread along a thin passageway, almost completely hidden from every angle (apart from a glimpse through a gate on Heathwall Street, shown below).
