(KRON) – Many students rely on free or reduced-cost school meals. Per the City of Oakland, more than 30,000 students depend on school lunches. Without school in the summertime, some students are left without resources for lunch. East Bay Community Foundation (EBCF), Eat. Learn. Play., and Alameda County Community Food Bank are collaborating this summer to ensure disadvantaged children who are under the age of 18 and adults with disabilities enrolled in a school program have lunches this summer.

Portola Music Festival has announced the headliners for the mostly EDM (electronic dance music) event. Dance-punk revival band LCD Soundsystem and pop music icon Christina Aguilera are set to headline on Saturday, Sept. 20. Duke Mumont, Magdalena Bay, Kelly Lee Owens and Zach Fox are on the bill for the first day.
