    I recently had a very interesting discussion at a joint Board of Education and the Finance Board meeting. Some of the items that failed to get fully discussed were education standards in Plymouth school system. Simply put, there are no real performance goals for the educational process in Plymouth. When asked how we are doing compared to pre-pandemic the answer is even starker. Only the middle school after five years is even close to pre-pandemic test scores.

    Patricia Griffith lived on and off in the juniper forest just east of Redmond for 20 years. On a recent cold February afternoon, Griffith drove a white Honda Civic through a network of dirt roads buried beneath six inches of fresh snow. The snow didn’t stop the 60-year-old from finding her way to the spot where her camp once stood. Along the way, a maze of camps arose in openings between the trees surrounding the site. There are lean-tos made of pallets enclosed with tarps.
