    A woman’s boobs have sparked a row dubbed ‘jigglegate’ over a popular South Yorkshire county and western bar. When The County Club, a well known venue in the Victorian Arcade in Barnsley town centre applied for a later licence, a neighbouring business objected, because of what was described as ‘anti-social behaviour’. A licencing hearing at Barnsley Council was this week told that this had involved a woman at the venue allegedly ‘jiggling her breasts’ at passers by.

    A long awaited Sheffield restaurant has opened today, ahead of schedule. Bosses opened the doors of the new Hickory’s Smokehouse venue, on Drakehouse Lane, near Beighton and Crystal Peaks, after work to get it ready for its planned opening date ahead of schedule. Diners took their first meals at the new venue today, giving them their first chance to see the transformed venue, which has a new children’s play area. It follows months of work to convert what was previously the Gypsy Queen pub.

    A popular Sheffield visitor attraction has been taped off by police this afternoon, with reports of a stabbing. South Yorkshire Police sent officers to the scene at around 3.15pm today, after an incident outside the cafe at Heeley City Farm. Eyewitnesses say that a man has been taken to hospital following the incident. It is believed there was an incident which involved two men fighting.

    A plume of smoke could be seen for miles over Sheffield after a blaze broke out in woodlands near the centre of Sheffield. South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service sent firefighters to the scene yesterday evening, and spent over an hour dealing with an incident which is thought to have been caused by cooking in woods just off Brunswick Road, between Burngreave and the city centre. Crews believe teh area had been used as a campsite. The service told The Star: “We were called at 6.47pm (June 19).
