AS the evenings get longer, midweek games are set to commence in the Antrim leagues with football taking charge on Wednesday. There have been some impressive starts to the season and none less than Aldergrove who are one of four teams with a perfect record after three games in Division One. The Crumlin outfit's record will be tested to the full this evening when they take on county champions Cargin in Toome - another of the unbeaten sides - as somebody's 0 will have to go.

McGeeney gave debuts to a number of players including goalscorer Tomás McCormack whose performance will ensure there is a decision to make going forward.

Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney was just relieved his All-Ireland champions escaped a rip-roaring battle with an Antrim side which fed off the buzz around the Corrigan Park venue furore. Patrick McBride was in top form with nine points for Antrim, including three first-half two-pointers, but overall Armagh carried more of a threat with 13 different scorers including eight points from Rory Grugan. Oisin O’Neill came on at the break to kick three two-point frees.

Small moments all add up in a game and Antrim manager Andy McEntee felt the breaks didn't quite go his team's way on Saturday as they fell to Armagh at Corrigan Park. The Saffrons gave all they had in an effort to topple the All-Ireland champions, but ultimately fell short with 11 points the difference in the end.
