River Island has announced that it will close one of it's Dublin branches from next week. The high street chain, which operates 6 other stores across Dublin, told customers it would no longer be trading on Henry Street. It comes as several stores in the UK had also been forced to close due to difficult trading conditions. In a poster on the shop window, the UK based company said neighbouring shops would remain open:"This store will be closing from Friday 27th June.

Dublin have learned their fate for this weekend's premliminary quarter-final fixture in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship. Having beaten Derry on Saturday to secure second place in this year's 'group of death', the Sky Blues received home advantage for this weekend's do-or-die clash with the Rebel county. Cork, who had finished third in a group containing Meath and Kerry, also booked their place on the final day of the Round Robin with a 0-19-0-17 win over Roscommon.

The north inner city has been classed the most littered out of 40 towns, according to the latest report from Irish Businesses Against Litter (IBAL). Ireland is making excellent progress when it comes to litter disposal, with the number of areas considered 'littered' at it's lowest level in five years. Naas in Co. Kildare is the cleanest town in the country topping the ranking of 40 towns and cities surveyed.

Brian Wilson, founding member of the Beach Boys, has died aged 82. Wilson was one of five of the group's original founding members, along with his brothers Dennis and Carl, cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. He is regarded as one of the most innovative musicians and songwriters of the 20th century, and played a crucial role in the production of the group's 1962 album Pet Sounds. Last year, it was revealed the singer and songwriter was suffering from dementia.

An iconic gallery is being welcomed back to its original home today with The Little Museum of Dublin set to officially reopen at St Stephen's Green from tomorrow. 14 months after shutting its doors for refurbishment, the little museum is back where it belongs. It had been set up in Pembroke Street while work was done, with around 6 thousand pieces of memorabilia being moved back to St Stephen's Green.
