    As construction for a roundabout ramps up, Perrysburg Township officials are concerned about possible damage to local roads as traffic tries to find its way around the Crossroads Centre area. The roundabout will be constructed on U.S. 20, between the shopping plaza and Lime City Road, just east of the final access road to the Crossroads Centre. At Wednesday’s trustees meeting, Administrator Jon Eckel said construction is expected to start May 27. The road closure is expected to last 45 days.

    Yet another warehouse is being proposed in Perrysburg Township, further bolstering the financial future of Rossford Schools. Ambrose Property Group is requesting site plan review for the proposed construction of a 204,540-square-foot warehouse. The 36.57 acres are located on the west side of Oregon Road north of State Rt. 795. The land is zoned I-2, general industrial. According to the Wood County auditor’s website, the property is owned by Paul Swartz.

    New language governing the construction of car washes in Perrysburg was approved by city council, but one councilman believes the way the code is worded means no new car washes will be built in the near future. Before Tuesday’s council vote on the distance restriction amendment, Councilman Cory Kuhlman asked for wording to be changed to allow car washes within a quarter-mile of one another, instead of a half-mile.

    A Maumee councilman criticized the administration for putting on — then taking off — legislation from the agenda of council’s Monday night meeting. Ordinance 15 would have given the administrator, law director, and finance director the authority to review and approve contracts from June through August without prior council approval, if time limitations made such prior approval impractical.
