SALT LAKE CITY — A family is reeling from shock and heartbreak after their loved one, 67-year-old Scott Mair, was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Sunday night. The collision occurred just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of 400 East and 2100 South while Mair was riding his motorcycle. The driver who struck him fled the scene, leaving his family desperate for answers. “He was such a happy guy. He was always happy,” said his grandson, Thaddeus Mair, struggling to comprehend the loss.

Brent Weisberg with the Salt Lake City Police Department said police responded to the scene near 350 East Wilson Ave. around 6 p.m. Upon their arrival, police found a “very young child” with life-threatening injuries. First responders performed CPR, and then the child was transported to an area hospital.
