SALT LAKE CITY — A teenage boy is dead following a motorcycle crash on the Alpine Loop Monday afternoon. Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said a 17-year-old boy was riding a motorcycle down the Alpine Loop toward American Fork at milepost 11 on state Route 92 near the Tamponages Cave National Monument. According to Roden, the motorcycle went off the road and crashed.

SALT LAKE CITY — A senior cat is recovering after experiencing a suspected plummet of over 350 feet off a Bryce Canyon cliff. In a statement, Best Friends Animal Society said it was “contacted by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office” about a tabby cat that was found next to the bodies of a man and a woman in Bryce Canyon Tuesday afternoon. According to police, it appeared that the two people had fallen off a cliff at Inspiration Point at some point late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.

SALT LAKE CITY — A man and a woman are dead after falling over 350 feet from a cliff in Bryce Canyon. Wade Mathews with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said authorities were made aware of the fall at around 2 p.m. Tuesday. According to Mathews, the two people fell off a cliff at Inspiration Point. At the time the fall was reported, authorities were told the two were already deceased. Authorities began a recovery mission, retrieving the bodies at around 2:30 p.m. through the use of a helicopter.

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are searching for the suspect in a “serious” hit-and-run accident involving a teenage victim in Pleasant Grove. According to Captain Britt Smith with the Pleasant Grove Police Department, the accident occurred around 4 p.m. near 2600 North 900 West. Smith said authorities are looking for a white Chevy four-door truck driven by an elderly man with a handicap placard. Police are not releasing the condition of the victim at this time.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah, Jared Dallan Buckley, 40, of West Point, Utah had these images and “represented online” that he could distribute them for money.

SALT LAKE CITY — A South Jordan Firefighter died in bed while on duty Monday afternoon. According to a press release from the City of South Jordan, the firefighter’s crew found him unresponsive in his room at Fire Station 61 at approximately 2:07 p.m.They immediately initiated life-saving measures before the man was sent to the Jordan Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. At this time, no other details, such as the cause of death or the man’s name, have been released.
