Muskegon Heights police officer shot, suspect killed

A uniformed Muskegon Heights police officer was on his way to work just before eight Monday morning when he encountered a disturbance on Baker Street. He and a suspect exchanged gunfire and the officer was shot. He radioed for help and described the suspect. A few minutes later, police say that suspect was on the porch of a home on Reynolds Street where he fired at a passing vehicle before the homeowner shot and injured the suspect who returned fire before running.
Ada Township sues Kent County over proposed stormwater dumping into Grand River

“We feel like if you're going to take that much water and dump it into Ada Township, that's a problem and we should have a say or at least be able to ask questions about it. “The storm water is from a Grand Rapids Township development located at Knapp Street and East Beltline NE. The Kent County Drain Commission has a plan to dump it into the Cook Drain which discharges into the Grand River in Ada Township.
