A murder investigation is underway after a woman was kidnapped from her home before a body, believed to be hers, was found in a burning car in Sydney’s south. Police were called to Bankstown about 10.30pm on Thursday to reports a 45-year-old woman had been kidnapped from her home — in front of two young boys known to her — by a group of armed intruders. The group — who had a gun — assaulted an eight-year-old boy with a baseball bat before forcing the woman into an SUV.

The male NSW Health worker accused of threatening to kill Israeli patients has apologised, while the female nurse has not spoken publicly, but her uncle says she is sorry. Ahmad “Rashad” Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh were stood down from Bankstown Hospital, in Sydney’s west, on Wednesday after a video of them allegedly “bragging about killing Israeli patients” went viral. The video has been widely condemned by authorities including NSW Health Minister Ryan Park and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
