Dovetail said the collaboration with the nearly 200-year-old farming brand has been in the works for a couple of years. A Portland-based women’s workwear brand is teaming up with one of the biggest names in agriculture for an apparel line aimed at women. Dovetail Workwear and John Deere have released a line of pants, shirts, overalls and more designed with female agricultural workers’ needs in mind.

The annual festival at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park will feature several acts over two days instead of four. Soaring costs are forcing Waterfront Blues Festival organizers to trim the Portland event from four days to two. Festival director Christina Fuller said the smaller festival footprint will allow it to save money at a time when large-scale festivals, like the annual Pickathon, struggle to stay afloat. “There is a key piece to it, too, of keeping the brand in motion,” Fuller said.
