NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WAVE) - Organizers of the Harvest Homecoming festival are getting a head start on developing a new safety plan after a deadly shooting there in 2024. In a post on Facebook, Harvest Homecoming Inc. said there will be an increased police presence, more barricades and updated festival hours. There will also be a chaperone policy in the rides area. Anyone younger than 18 years old will need to be with an adult who is 21 or older.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A patient at Jewish Hospital was arrested Friday after police say he got into a fight with security guards there. The incident happened around 2 a.m. on May 9 at the hospital located in downtown Louisville. LMPD said when officers arrived, they found 50-year-old Vincent Armstrong handcuffed to a wheelchair and was surrounded by security guards. Officers said every computer was knocked to the floor during the altercation.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - An arrest has been made in connection to the May 5 shooting in the Brown Hotel parking garage. Louisville Police announced Wednesday that 41-year-old Gary Ross has been arrested and charged with assault in relation to the shooting of George Gray just after 2:15 Monday morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Police have announced an arrest in connection to a shooting of a juvenile in Valley Station Tuesday night. LMPD announced Wednesday that 18-year-old Jamal Sheikh was arrested hours after the shooting in the 1400 block of Earl Avenue without incident. Officers responded to a call of a shooting at 6 p.m. on May 6 in the 13000 block of Bold Forbes Boulevard and arrived to find a juvenile who had been shot in the head.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Police are investigating after a man was sent to the hospital in a hit and run in Buechel Tuesday morning. LMPD responded to a call of a vehicle collision with a pedestrian in the 4700 block of Bardstown Road just after 6:15 a.m. The initial investigation determined a man was walking along Bardstown when he was hit by an unknown vehicle that left the scene. The man was taken to Baptist East Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
