(The Center Square) – Fentanyl deaths in Colorado dropped last year, but still had an economic toll of $13.1 billion, a new report says. That amounts to a cost of $2,220 per resident, according to the report by the Common Sense Institute, a free-enterprise think tank in the state. Fentanyl-related deaths dropped from 1,184 in December 2023 to 801 in November 2024, a 32.4% reduction, but still well above death rates prior to 2020.
