Pothole patching on I-78 in Berks to cause lane restrictions

Pothole patching will take place tonight on Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township from Exit 30 to Exit 40 the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced. Lane restrictions will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the patching and debris removal in both directions of the highway. Use caution driving through the work zone. The Berks County sheriff’s office is seeking the following fugitives:• Robert Purfield, 39, whose last known address was in the 800 block of Franklin Street, Reading is wanted on theft charges. Cumru Township police stated that on June 13, Purfield stole an SUV valued at $8,990. Charges were filed on June 16. He is described as 6 feet 1 inch and 180 pounds. • Carlos Beltran-Lopez, 44, whose last known address was in the 700 block of North Ninth Street, Reading, is wanted on retail theft charges.

The Berks County sheriff’s office is seeking the following fugitive:• Roberto Cruz-Rodriguez, 53, whose last known address was in the 600 block of South 17 1/2 Street, Reading, is wanted on corrupt organizations and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (fentanyl) charges. Police stated that on Feb. 1, 2022, Cruz-Rodriguez conducted a financial transaction involving proceeds of unlawful activity.

• Johannica Gonzalez, 53, whose last known address was in the 200 block of North 11th Street, Reading, is wanted on retail theft, receiving stolen property and theft by deception charges. Police said that on Sept.14, Gonzalez stole $263 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in Tilden Township. On Sept. 25, Gonzalez stole $1,028 worth of merchandise from Camping World in Tilden Township. Gonzalez was seen on surveillance taking the merchandise without paying in both incidents.
