Two Monmouth Fire Fighters are heading out to Ukraine as part of a convoy delivering six fire engines to the Ukraine emergency services. Group Manager at South Wales Fire and Rescue Darren Cleaves and Monmouth firefighter Kelly have left for the Polish/Ukraine border as part of a 30 strong convoy of UK fire engines being donated to Ukraine emergency services. The convoy is made up of over 15,000 items of equipment, 107 drivers involving 18 fire and rescue services.

A charity kickathon at a local Taekwondo Club aims to raise money for a former member. Kevin Barber was a Black Belt with the Monmouth, Usk and Abergavenny Taekwondo Club but now suffers from young onset dementia, after being diagnosed in 2016 so his wife, Mirande who still trains under master Tony Farr, asked the club to help her raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society as she is taking part in a sponsored 26 mile hike in the Brecon Beacons.

Mum Lucy Bennett-Downes, whose 8-year-old daughter Oti is a recognisable face around Monmouth said that they would not be where they are today without the support of 21 Plus.
