John Edwards, a self-confessed "sign cleaning enthusiast" from Shrewsbury, arrived in Ludlow to get to work on April 10 after cleaning four speed limit signs on the A49 in Church Stretton and the "filthy" Acton Scott sign on the A49 at Marshbrook.

    Ludlow man found guilty of assault and criminal damage (Image: HT archive) A LUDLOW man charged with assault by beating and criminal damage has been found guilty at trial at magistrates’ court. Paul Oldfield, aged 41, who had two addresses given in court - Livesey Road in Ludlow and Pound Close in Kettering - was charged with one count of assault by beating and one count of criminal damage. He entered not guilty pleas in July last year following the incident in November 2023.
