    MINNEAPOLIS — After announcing tentative plans to close multiple public skating rinks across Minneapolis, the parks and rec board for the city have amended their plans. Previously, to address a $1.5 million funding gap, the board announced the number of ice rinks would be slashed from 22 to 17 and recreation center hours would be reduced at several locations over two years. On Friday, board members decided Windom NE will have general skating and one hockey rink restored.

    MINNEAPOLIS — Hunting can be just as dangerous for humans as it is for deer in Minnesota's woods and this weekend, during Minnesota Firearms Deer Hunting Opener, two hunters were seriously hurt in separate incidents in Clay and Norman counties. According to a press release from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, just before 8 a.m. on Saturday officers were called to the area of 4600 90th Avenue North in rural Moorhead. Reports said a man was struck by gunfire while hunting.

    ST PAUL, Minn. — Police have identified the man shot and injured by officers after pointing a gun at police on Monday evening. According to a press release from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Earl Bennett, 40, was shot by police near Allianz Field. Officials said Bennett does not have a permanent address but has been staying in the Twin Cities Metro area. Bennett is hospitalized in critical but stable condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

    MINNEAPOLIS — A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot outside his home in a dispute with a neighbor on Grand Avenue South in Minneapolis on Oct. 23. According to a criminal complaint, Minneapolis police responded to a hospital for a report of a gunshot victim on Wednesday night. The injured man had been transported from his home on Grand Avenue South for an unknown medical condition that caused him to collapse.

    MINNEAPOLIS — Charges have been filed against a south Minneapolis man accused of shooting his neighbor after a long-simmering rift. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office filed charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, stalking and harassment against 54-year-old John Herbert Sawchak after alleged racial comments escalated to threats, then culminated in that neighbor being shot while pruning a tree on the line between their two properties.
