JAMESTOWN — Medina High School athletic director Damon Bosche was recently named the North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s Division B District 2 Athletic Administrator of the Year. Bosche is one of eight Division B district recipients this year. During the basketball seasons, Bosche was named the District 2 Athletic Director of the Year.

Jimmies football hosts joint practice against Minnesota State Moorhead

JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown football team wrapped up its spring practices with a joint practice against Minnesota State University Moorhead on Saturday, April 14, at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium. The Jimmies and Dragons spent approximately 90 minutes competing in various practices. Jimmies head coach Brian Mistro said the teams had their first- and second-string units compete against each other.
Jimmies baseball sweeps Briar Cliff on the road

REDFIELD, S.D. — The University of Jamestown baseball team mounted a late comeback to get a 10-9 win over Briar Cliff University (Iowa) on Tuesday, April 15, at the Redfield Baseball Field. The Chargers scored two runs in the top of the first before the Jimmies’ Ryan Muizelaar hit a three-run shot to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame. The Jimmies added two more in the second to push the lead out to 5-2. The Chargers fought back with two of their own in the fourth to bring it closer at 5-4.

JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown men’s hockey team’s season has come to an end and their netminder and captain have been recognized by the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s year-end awards. The Jimmies’ Brandon Weare made it onto the All-Athletic First Team as the squad’s goalie while Brad Fortin was named an All-Athletic Honorable Mention.
Jimmies men's volleyball fall in five sets at Oakland City

OAKLAND CITY, IN. — The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team could not stop the bleeding in a five-set loss to Oakland City University (25-15, 25-18, 19-25, 23-25, 10-15) on Sunday, April 13, at the Mighty Oaks’ Johnson Center. The Jimmies got off to a 10-4 lead in the first set and they were able to push it all the way out ot 2-11 drawing a Mighty Oaks timeout. The timeout did little to slow the Jimmies down as they were able to get the 25-15 first set win.
Jimmies softball sweeps Valley City State in Sunday doubleheader

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — The University of Jamestown softball team started quickly and it helped them get an 8-0 win over Valley City State University on Sunday, April 13, at the Vikings’ Softball Complex. The Jimmies’ Kayla Quintanilla hit a two-run triple in the first to push the Jimmies in front 2-0. The score stayed that way until the third when the Jimmies tacked one more and they scored one in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — The University of Jamestown baseball team responded to getting shutout in the first game of the doubleheader with the opposite of a shutout, beating Valley City State University 20-3 in the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday, April 12, at the Vikings’ Charlie Brown Memorial Field. The Jimmies had a chance to get off to a quick start when they loaded the bases in the first inning but a groundout kept the game scoreless.

JAMESTOWN — Former University of Jamestown star Mason Walters' first season of professional basketball has officially come to an end after he traveled halfway across the planet to play in Finland. Walters, who also played one year at the University of Wyoming, began his professional career in December with Kouvot Kouvola in the Finnish professional basketball league, Korisliiga. “Overall, I thought it was a really good experience to start my career,” Walters said.
