May 20-A pre-dawn explosion and fire at the San Leandro BART Station caused "major service issues" for the transit agency in the East Bay on Tuesday, as service remained down at several stations for much of the day. The fire, which damaged BART equipment, forced the transit agency to halt service south of its Lake Merritt Station. There was no Blue, Green or Orange Line service between the Berryessa, Dublin/Pleasanton and Lake Merritt stations for several hours, BART officials said.

San Jose police said Monday they arrested a person suspected of keying a white Tesla vehicle in a Costco parking lot, prompting a response from the city's mayor who questioned the motivations behind the vandalism incident. A video, apparently recorded by the Tesla itself, ricocheted across the internet showing a person wearing a "USA" jacket exiting their own car in the parking lot before scratching a key across the Tesla's passenger-side door.

Stormy conditions knocked out power to more than 1,000 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers on San Francisco's west side Thursday morning. The Chronicle's PG&E outage tracker showed that about 1,500 customers lost power around 5 a.m. near Fort Funston and Lake Merced. It was not immediately clear when power would be restored.
